Co-Ownership
Co-ownership isn't as scary as some might think! The dog is yours and lives with you 24/7 - We do not get part time custody of the dog.
Co-Owning one of our puppies pretty much means that you will get pick of the litter, whether male or female - We do tend to co-own more males than females as co-owning a male is super easy! That dog will be your pet, and hopefully, if the dog ticks all the right boxes once matured, they would be included in our breeding program.
If the dog is maturing well and has a nice stable temperament, then at around 12-24 months old, we would organise for the dog to have their health testing done - Hip and Elbow x-rays and evaluation, as well as Genetic Testing, if not already done at a younger age while still in our care. We cover all these expenses in relation to breeding, while all the day-to-day cost of owning a dog would be the co-owners responsibility.
If we do end up using the dog in our breeding program, we offer a full refund of the purchase price, once the contract is finalised - $3,000.
Below you will find more information about co-owning a male & female, as both sexes have different requirements.
We are always looking for families to co-own one of our puppies as we rely a lot on our co-own families to help us move forward with our breeding program, and for the work we are doing for the breed as a whole here in Australia.
Co-owning dogs is a great way for us to sill move forward with our breeding program, while not having to keep a puppy from every breeding that we do. As much as we would love to keep a puppy from every breeding, it's just not ideal, nor do we think it's fair on the dogs. This way, the dogs get to live out their best life with a family to love them and call their own. They get more of that one-on-one attention that they might not get in a multi dog home.
Co-owning is also a great option for those that are seriously thinking about breeding. With the help and guidance from us, you can see firsthand what we do and how we go about our breeding practices. A couple of our puppies have gone to future breeding homes under co-ownership, and we are very much looking forward to working with those families in the future.
If you have any questions, or would like more information, please feel free to contact us.
Male
Co-owning a male is actually pretty easy - All we ask for is to be able to get the dog collected (semen) if and when we need, all at our expense. If you are local to our area, we will ask for a natural mating to take place, as that's always the easier option, for everyone, but understand that is not always possible as a lot of our dogs are co-owned all over Australia. The dog would need to be taken to your local vet clinic to have his Hips & Elbows x-rayed and scored, before any breeding's were to take place. We cover the cost of this - all we ask is that you can transport him to the vet. If we do use your male in our breeding program, we offer a full refund of the purchase price, once the contract is finalised.

Female
Co-owning a female is a little bit trickier as there is a bit more involved. We ask for 1-2 breeding's to take place, and we cover all costs involved in these breeding's. Every situation is different with our girls, so it depends on the co-owner and what works best for them, as well as the dog. If you have the time and experience in whelping and raising a litter, then we are open to her staying with you throughout the whole process. However, most of my co-owners prefer that their girls come back to us for the breeding to take place and for her to whelp and raise her litter. If you are local, then she would come back to us for the breeding to take place, then go home till she is about 2 weeks out from whelping. Then she would come back to us and stay here till her puppies are 8 weeks old. If you are out of state, then 1 of 3 things can happen. 1) She would come back to us for the breeding to take place and would be required to stay here with us till the puppies are 8 weeks of age. 2) If it is an Artificial Insemination, then she can stay with you for the breeding to take place, providing you are able to make all the vet appointments. Then, once confirmed pregnant at 4 weeks from mating/A.I, she would then come back to us to whelp and raise her puppies to 8 weeks of age. 3) If you do have the time and experience in whelping and raising a litter, the female will stay with you throughout the whole process - For the breeding to take place and raising puppies till they are 8-12 weeks old. We cover all costs involved in whelping and raising a happy, healthy litter. The dog would need to be taken to your local vet clinic to have her Hips & Elbows x-rayed and scored, before any breeding's were to take place. We cover the cost of this, all we ask is that you can transport her to the vet. If we use your female in our breeding program, we offer a full refund of the purchase price, once the contract is finalised. * Contract
Price for co-ownership of a female dog is $3,000
We currently have dogs in every state in Australia, as well as overseas - Including co-own dogs. All of our puppies are family dogs first and foremost, but some of these dogs are also show champions and titled working dogs. We are very easy to work with and have a great relationship with all of our puppy owners. Having a great relationship with the families that own one of our dogs is extremely important to us. We are always just a phone call away if one of our puppy owners ever need us. The level of care that we provide our puppies doesn't just stop once they leave our care. We love receiving updates and even have a group on Facebook just for our puppy owners. We take huge pride in our dogs and in our breeding program, so it is very important that our puppy buyers understand that. The American Bulldog standard is drastically dropping due to the careless breeders out there that are not giving much thought about what their breedings might be doing to the future of the breed here is Australia. There are so many health problems popping up because 'breeders' are not taking the time to health test their dogs. There are also a lot of temperament issues within the breed because 'breeders' are not choosing stable, well-balanced dogs to breed from. The last thing we want is for someone to use one of our dogs for their own breeding purposes, to a dog that could be full of underlying health issues or has an unstable temperament. This could be detrimental to out breeding program and the breed as a whole. We have put in a lot of time, money and effort into our dogs, our breeding program and our kennel, to get it to where it is today, so the last thing we want is for someone to undo all of our hard work.
We are always looking for like-minded bulldoggers who share the same views as us and who are just as passionate about improving the future of the breed here is Australia as we are. Please feel free to contact us if you would like further information.
